Chris has finally stopped swimming after 14 hours and forty minutes - just three miles from the French coast. He has had a bad shoulder since before the half way mark and, together with an unfavourable tide, this finally caught up with him a few minutes ago.
Nevermind, Chris - you'll nail it next time. I bet you can't wait to get back in that water again!
Latest news from the Channel is that the tide is dragging Chris away from the coast and so he is having to swim harder against the tide to reach his destination. Just one final push is all he needs!
Despite waking just before Chris began his swim this morning, I am now heading to bed while he is still in the water.

Chris is less than four miles from the French coast. He has been swimming for twelve hours so far. I rather suspect he is looking forward to getting out of the water now. But he simply can't stop swimming until he has gone another four miles - otherwise he'll drown!
